The Influence of the European neighbouring policy upon the economic development of Georgia

Purpose:  The resolutions passed within European neighbouring policy and the Eastern partnership and the reforms having been accordingly  realized  are focused on the creation of the deep and comprehensive free trade services. Besides the trade in goods, this sphere includes the service trade and capital turnover as well. That means the harmonization of the regulating legislation of customs procedures and companies and the sanitary and phyto-sanitary norms. In order to be integrated with European market it is necessary to approximate the State purchase procedures and investment legislation to that of European, to provide with competition and also to meet the international environmental  and  labour standards, to harmonize the energetic field and etc. Against  the background of the noted reforms it is important to estimate these processes. That’s why the main purpose of this paper is to define the impact of European neighbouring policy on the economic development of Georgia.

Methodology: During the working processes there were applied the methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, statistical observation and grouping.

Results: When analyzing the Euro-integration processes there were revealed the priority areas. First of all, they refer to the precisely defined legislative frames, which will increase the degree of trust, also it will create the just and favorable environment for  business and reduce the corruption;  On the other hand, the rules of inner market will set the modern standards in the safety field of industrial products and goods provided with the better quality of production;  There will  be formed the trade system compatible with the requirements of Euro-union market; Georgia will  become an attractive country for investments. There will be established new enterprises, export products and etc. And this means that there will be made the preconditions for increasing the competitiveness of economy of Georgia. There will be revealed the new possibilities for the trade not only between Georgia and European Union but for the trade between Georgia and other countries of the world.

The theoretical contribution The paper  is theoretical- practical in character and according to the provisions of  Association Agreement it is based on the assessment of those anticipated effects which are connected to the rehabilitation of Georgian economy and the creation of  the trade space  compatible with European Union. That’s why all kinds of theoretical approach to these issues  represents the novelty and evaluation of this paper.

Practical implications From the practical point of view in the paper there are discussed the issues which are in complete accordance with the theoretical issues, because there are reviewed the anticipated practical results of implementation of the projects concerning the  approximation with the European Union in  all the possible directions and the corresponding conclusions are drawn.
